Aspiring filmmaker
Director, editor, and graphic designer. With a decade of editing experience and several years of making films, I have developed a true passion for the world of filmmaking.
Over the years I have been cinematographer and director on various short films, music videos, sport club promos and corporate videos. I have also designed promotional artwork and animation graphics for short films, documentaries, and businesses. Most recently I was President of the Student Filmmaking Society at The University of Sheffield.
10 Years of Editing Experience
Editing is a particular part of filmmaking of special interest to me. Starting with just small YouTube videos using the simplest editing software I could find, to now undertaking edits for professional promotional videos on an industry level software.
I have a lot of experience especially in building music into videos to make punchy, eye-catching content, but in the last few years I have also started editing narrative driven content, which is a whole different beast.
TESTIMONIALS
Kieran Lowley
Director of 'Breathing Art', 'Into the Woods' & 'In His Silence'
I have worked with Ed on many projects, from short films (In His Silence / Breathing Art) to theatre production advertisements (Into The Woods) and society campaigns (Dodgeball / Fencing), and he has never let me down. Ed is punctual and is skilled with various camera systems, from DSLRs to full-blown cinema rigs. His understanding for shot composition, lighting and general knowledge on film has never failed to impress me. It also helps that he can hold a heavy camera (a fully rigged URSA Mini 4k) for long periods of time, and that he is a genuine joy to have on set. I would fully recommend hiring and working with Ed Wignall, he has never disappointed.
President of Sheffield Student Filmmaking Society (2018-19)
James Turner
As secretary, Ed has been a tremendous asset to the Sheffield Student Filmmaking Society. He is both creative and professional, frequently coming up with innovative ways to improve the society and providing practical means by which to do so. He has a great work ethic, and is more importantly a pleasure to work with.
